We are a very small operation and consequently don't have the resources to implement the features you mentioned. We simply generate a installer for the full product. Generally, if you install over an existing licensed version, it will use the old license. In some cases, there is a change in the license that requires re-registering, but the same serial number will work. It was only with a recent major change that the licensing system changed.
When running under After Effects, you can open the About dialog to check the version. The About dialog is not supported by Premiere.
